Jay Cutler Bio

Jay Cutler has proven that he is the man to beat with a total of 19 titles under his belt. Cutler began weight lifting at the age of 18, and entered his first serious competition in 1992, Gold Gym Worcester Bodybuilding Championships in which he placed 2nd. The following year, 1993, he entered and won the NPC Iron Bodies Invitational - Teenage and Men's Middleweight. With a win secured here, Cutler pumped on to the NPC Teen Nationals - Middleweight and won.

Career

Throughout the late 1990s, Cutler had to compete against Dorian Yates and then later, his biggest rival, Ronnie "Big Ron" Coleman, who was an absolute powerhouse at Mr. Olympia over the course of 8 years, between 1998 to 2005. From 2000 to 2005 Cutler had placed 2nd at Mr. Olympia, each time looking up at Coleman. Cutler never gave up and finally in 2006 he dethroned Coleman as the reigning Mr. Olympia. And then he won again in 2007 for 2 consecutive titles. But in 2008 he lost to Dexter Jackson, only to come back and win again in 2009, making him only the third professional bodybuilder in history to reclaim the Mr. Olympia title. His last Mr. Olympia was in 2010, giving Cutler a total of 4 Mr. Olympia victories.

2001 Diuretic Scandal

Jay Cutler tested positive for a banned diuretic at the 2001 Mr. Olympia. As a result, he was stripped of his 2nd place finish. But Cutler didn't back down. He went to court and had his 2nd place finish reinstated.

Personal Life

Cutler currently lives in Las Vegas with his wife Kerry and continues training.
